Not “One Day…”, Day One.

Several years ago I set out on a journey with no particular destination in mind. I had a path for myself, to experience and enjoy live music, and I was going to walk it for as long as I was able. I never dreamed that the roads I chose would lead me to where I am today, surrounded by so many people that feel the magic and share the passion as well.

Through the years there have been many moments where ideas sprang forth that eventually materialized into being. “One day, I should get actual shirts printed up professionally for us”, “one day, we should all take vacation together and hit up a festival”, “one day, I should start a Facebook group”… But there were also the ideas that got relegated to the back of the line, thinking that they were too fantastical or out of our reach.

“One day, I’m going to start our own website for the Family, and for all of live music. A place where fans can find shows and new bands. Where bands can find promoters and new audiences. Where promoters can find venues and new fans. And where fans can find each other. A true one-stop-shop for everyone that makes or loves live music.”

I am equal parts excited and nervous as hell (outright terrified if I’m being completely honest here), to say that our permanent home is no longer a distant thought of “One day…”. The doors of ICoNPitCrew.com are officially open. It is not perfect, it is not a fully completed vision yet, but it is ours, and it is ready to grow.

We have dedicated spaces for the Family, we have dedicated space for Venues, we have dedicated space for Promoters, and we are currently building a dedicated space for Bands. We will have a page fully dedicated to trading, gifting, and rehoming tickets. We will have a page fully dedicated to festivals, to find riding, camping, or hanging out buddies. With the launch, we are going to start celebrating “Fresh Ink Fridays”, where we will spotlight a tatted member of the Family, and tell their story. We are going to start pouring heavily into the Press wing of Pit Crew, and bring you interviews, behind the scenes content, and album reviews. And we have much, much more still on the burners.

Today, we finally have a digital home to call our very own. Someday, we’ll all be looking back at this moment fondly, laughing and reminiscing together at a show. I mean, we’ve made it this far, who’s to say this is our final destination? Who’s to say that that show we’re reminiscing at won’t be at The Beacon, the Pit Crew’s very own venue? Our physical home may still be “one day…”, but today is our digital home’s Day One. And I could not pick a better group of people to share it with. Thank you all, and please allow me to be the first person to tell you, welcome home. πŸ€˜πŸ’š
